DataDrive in the aftermarket automotive business management
Product
TIPS Talks is a new category within the blog where we invite a guest to share relevant information about strategic areas around the business and organizational trends in general. We may have people from inside or outside the organization and the format will be a short interview in video that is later resumed in an article. The main purpose is to drive and inspire all players in our market with relevant information.
TIPS Talks with Miguel Cabral | Partner & Product Manager at Tips4y
In this first approach, we wanted to find out more about one of the projects that Miguel Cabral and his team have been particularly dedicated to: DataDrive.
But first, let us meet Miguel Cabral
Throughout my professional life, data (especially automotive data) has always been my passion. And it was this enthusiasm and experience that brought me to Tips4y five years ago. Initially, the aim was to turn the plate number search product into a service of excellence, which is now an unquestionable reality. From there, it was a short step to developing a differentiating ecosystem capable of providing a high level of user experience.
1. What is DataDrive?
DataDrive is the technological platform that combines different data in different functionalities, providing strategic indicators to anticipate, increase and retain business. It is a solution for companies related to the automotive business that need an end-to-end, integrated flow in a single location that involves the customer and supplier in a continuous process: at home, in the vehicle or in the workshop.
2. And what functionalities can be carried out on DataDrive?
Companies can benefit from a comprehensive view of the vehicle to make immediate repair decisions or predict future interventions, allowing for predictive advice to their customers in advance. This approach is clearly differentiating and makes DataDrive a strategic tool in business management.
Typically, this platform type offers solutions that respond to a range of needs and processes, including:
Planning
Dynamic vehicle reception
Selective estimate between OE and IAM parts with the respective comparison
Technical Information
Environmental Management
Workshop Marketing
All the different functionalities are menus designed for full ERP/DMS integration.
In the specific case of a distributor or of an organization in a network, it is also possible to configure different levels of internal access, for more efficient management.
The configured services are supported by notifications and status information to facilitate the entire user experience.
3. How do you expect the market to react to this solution and what goals do you hope to achieve in the mid-term?
We already have some customers operating with DataDrive on a pilot basis and the first experiences have clearly encouraged us to continue working on improving the platform, as the input we have received clearly proves that we are on the right track.
Based on these experiences, and on the studies we have been carrying out on companies' needs, we believe that the market will strongly welcome a solution with this level of innovation and positioning.
In the mid-term, we plan to have a significant number of our customers operating with DataDrive as their main day-to-day management tool, and at a later stage as their main strategic tool of excellence.
4. What future changes could emerge in the market as a result of DataDrive?
DataDrive is a solution based on data science designed to be used in a user-friendly way and as a tool to facilitate access to knowledge, which means that companies that use it systematically will themselves develop a fundamental analytical culture to broaden their vision of the market and, above all, of their own customers.
So we're not just talking about a tool for facilitating processes - which is one of its practical goals in terms of efficiency - but also an accelerator of internal knowledge and best management practices.
All this experience could lead not only to a higher level of interest in this kind of solution within the market, but also to a higher level of demand in the way it operates, increasing competitiveness.
Tips4y wants to be an active part of the aftermarket digital transformation, so we aim to encourage this type of scenario and I believe that DataDrive could be an excellent driver in this direction.
5. How important are these type of solutions for the aftermarket evolution?
The automotive industry faces a number of challenges and one of the most important is responding to the new concepts of mobility, which will change the way we use cars, as part of a mobility solution and not as a solution in itself! The repair business will be different, because in the context of a mobility solution its purpose will be to guarantee the user's mobility, to turn an inconvenience into a convenience! If we add to this transformation the fact that the pandemic has developed the low-contact business, digital transformation in the aftermarket is inevitable and only those who embrace it will have a chance of future success! The worst thing is that the future started yesterday!
Tips4y is obviously aware of all these circumstances and is constantly monitoring these developments, always adjusting its offer to better service the market.
It is precisely because we believe that companies need increasingly powerful solutions to meet these challenges that we developed the DataDrive ecosystem. Our ambition is for DataDrive to become the standard in the aftermarket automotive business management.
Our thanks to Miguel Cabral.
